About us
Originally opening its doors for the first time in September 2011, Newlyn School of Art is a dynamic and innovative art school situated in the heart of the famous artistic colony of Newlyn in Cornwall.
The School provides a wide range of high-quality and exciting short art courses, online short courses and Year-long courses; all taught by over thirty of the most respected artists working in Cornwall today.
Many of our short courses take place on the dramatic Cornish coastline within a short drive from the art school in the school minibus.
We provide five different longer part-time courses held over six two-day sessions across a 12-month period. The Defining Practice course, Studio Practice course, Mentoring Programme, Professional Landscape Programme and The Figure.
We offer a number of excellent online pre-recorded short courses packed with exercises and hints and tips all come with filmed loops of the coastline or life models or still life subjects to paint from and we also have an Archive of 60 Online Life Drawing Sessions which enable students to study in their own time from home and give 12 months of unlimited access.
