This course is aimed at those who already have some experience of landscape painting. Imogen Bone will help participants to build on their knowledge of having some previous experience of painting directly from the landscape. In the course we explore some more off the path locations. We look at making site specific work using water-based materials. Aiming to portray more than the physical elements of the landscape incorporating the spirit of the place by experimenting with colour and movement within the painting. Back to the studio we build on these first impressions, progressing the work further with memories and notes of the location creating paintings to show the full experience of the place.
The course will take students to outdoor sites which have not been used on Imogen's Coast course. Based mainly outdoors, this hands-on painting course is informative, expressive and inspiring to students who have some previous experience of landscape painting including colour mixing, composition, markmaking and tone.
A reasonable level of fitness is required for this course, as you may be required to walk 1 mile on uneven coastal paths to get to the best painting locations, from the minibus drop-off points.
