This fabulous four-day landscape printmaking course covers both non-press and press printmaking techniques. Respected printmaker Anita Reynolds will take participants out to gather information in the West Cornwall landscape using drawing and printmaking methods followed by studio days developing ideas into finished prints.
The course will cover trace-monoprinting, sketching & collage on-site to create images and ideas to use for printmaking back at the school. In the studio, you will be shown how to create monoprints with and without the use of a press. Non-press methods will include using acrylics with a gelli plate and other techniques Anita has created to use in her own practice. Printing monotypes and drypoints using a press and printing inks will also be covered during the four days.
Over the course, some emphasis will be put on the development of ideas and techniques to create hybrid prints using a combination of the methods covered during the course. And as you will be working with paint as well as inks these methods can easily be incorporated into your paintings and drawings without the use of expensive equipment.
Anita is an incredibly inventive artist and teacher and this course will no doubt act as a catalyst for participants to explore new ways of working. One of the most addictive and universally easy-to-use elements of the course will be Anita's sharing of her knowledge of printing techniques without a press.
