Life Drawing Session No.10

With reference to Degas' pastel drawings, 'Underpainting' and how to convey the human form is the theme of this life class with Jesse. Developing multiple layers of colour by working on specific aspects of the figure, such as areas where the light falls, or the places where the bone is evident under the skin, Jesse shows how we can create depth and richness in a drawing.

Jesse Leroy Smith

Materials used on this course:

Ideally for this session participants will have with them a few coloured chalk/soft pastels, a couple of oil pastels if available (not essential) and a cloth or rag. However, the session is still useful to work from the various poses even without the above materials.
