This exciting studio-based three-day course with artist Marie-Claire Hamon offers complete beginners an interactive introduction to painting, drawing, colour and mark-making.
This practical course enables beginners to approach an understanding of basic composition, how to mix colours successfully, how to describe form, and how to draw and paint from both observation and imagination. Students also have the opportunity to draw from a clothed life model.
Filled with fun, creative exercises, this course is designed to encourage experimentation and quickly build confidence. Marie-Claire is a reassuring and patient teacher – the perfect guide for those who would like to learn the basics of how to draw and paint.

Where to meet:
Please arrive at the Newlyn School of Art at 9.50 for a 10am start. This course ends at 4pm.

This course uses acrylic paint and a variety of different drawing materials.
Level:
If you're new to art, rusty from years away from your paints, or just looking to break some old habits. If you have any specific access or support requirements please give us a call at the time of booking to discuss your needs.

This course is for 18 years and above.
What to bring:
All materials are provided by the school. Please bring old clothes to paint in.
