A valuable four-day studio-based course that helps students to understand the foundational skills of painting with oil paints.
With a range of still-life setups as the subject, participants are expertly guided in the fundamentals of representational painting, focusing on tonal values, composition, form, colour identification and mixing and mark making.
Suitable for beginners and improvers, students are taught largely on a one-to-one basis with experienced artist Jon Doran, helping each individual improve their technique and overcome any obstacles that arise. Jon will also offer some short demonstrations to illustrate his teaching.
The course includes practical advice on how to set up a studio at home so you can continue your painting practice.
