This incredibly valuable course helps participants to understand the foundational skills of painting with oils.
With a range of still-life setups as the subject, participants are expertly guided in the fundamentals of representational painting, focusing on tonal values, composition, form, mark making, colour identification and the important skills of colour mixing.
Suitable for beginners and improvers, participants are taught through demonstrations from experienced artist Jon Doran and are given exercises throughout the course so that they can engage with every element of the teaching, helping each individual improve their technique and overcome any obstacles that arise.
Looped shots of all of the still life subjects shown in the film are provided for participants to work from with the exercises given throughout the course.
The course includes practical advice on how to set up a studio at home so you can continue your painting practice.
The course is pre-recorded so that you can take your time to really absorb the wealth of advice, practical exercises and demonstrations throughout the course. We would advise spending at least around 3-4 days working your way through the course.
