John Howard
John Howard is one of the most talented and experienced printmakers working in the South West today. John is a tutor on our year-long course Defining Practice.
Born in Birmingham, John worked in industry in the Midlands before studying Fine Art as a mature student. He graduated from the University of Central England in 1989 with a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art. John was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) in 1995 and a Fellow of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) in 2004.
John moved to Cornwall in 1995 and now runs a successful printmaking studio in Penryn, offering courses, workshops and open access.
He has taught as a visiting lecturer at the University of Central England, the University of Warwick, the University of Coventry and the Birmingham Print Workshop. He is an Associate Lecturer at Falmouth University.
