Tim Ridley
Tim is one of the artists who exhibits in our annual fundraiser and has close connections with the school.
Tim Ridley is an artist whose practice references the animal/human relationship. Using oil
paint, ink and charcoal he works on reclaimed wooden supports, making work influenced by
the found photograph. Always making his work with as little impact on the environment,
opening dialogues up around the ethics of how we interact with animals in the Anthropocene.
He holds a BA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and an MA in Painting from Arts
University Plymouth. He is a member of the NSA. His work has been in the RWA 171 open,
Imagine Falmouth, Open West exhibitions, where he won the Gloucestershire University
prize, Beep2018 Swansea, ING Discerning Eye, Wells Art Contemporary. He was the lead artist
at residencies in the Czech Republic and Baku Azerbaijan. His work is in private collections
worldwide and he is represented by SaatchiArt online.
Tim specialises in sustainable practice, working from the photographic image, handmade
inks and approaching abstraction from figuration.
